June 30 – Rapid Creek and Nightcliff markets in Darwin

Darwin is like a three-ring circus – there’s so much going on all the time.  Markets with food, with crafts, the Fringe Festival and the Darwin Festival which is an 18-day feast of music, theatre, dance, cabaret and more.  Too bad we won’t be here for all of it.  We have been to the local markets though where you can buy all kinds of Asian food to cook or already made in the food trucks.  Jim’s favorites are beef rendang, chicken satay, meatballs on a stick and stuffed chicken wings.  When we order our pawpaw salad we have to tell her one chili.  She also makes a delicious peanut sauce.
