July 3 – crocodiles, pythons and birds oh my – Arnhem Land tour day 2

It was a four hour car ride from Gunbalanya to Venture North’s Cobourg Coastal Camp.  Along the way Dave spotted a long-neck turtle in the road so we stopped to rescue him.  He was dehydrated so we put him in a container with water and brought him along.  A short ride later he spotted what he thought was a big stick in the road but it turned out to be an Olive Python.  Dave had to investigate (he’s worked at snake and crocodile farms) so we got to watch the python whisper in action.  We did not bring him along.  We made numerous stops along the way to watch birds and crocks and to stretch our legs.
