After leaving Canberra we stopped in Albury for the night. Before continuing on to Melbourne we stopped at Electra Cafe for breakfast. It was Easter Sunday and it was open and it was fabulous. I had a delicious rye toast with tomato and avocado, Meredith fetta and poached eggs. One of the best brekkies thus far in Australia.
Melbourne was cold and overcast and crowded. It’s trying to be a contemporary city squeezing out the beautiful historical buildings with an overlay of electrical cables for public transportation. Easter week meant everyone was traveling so we decided to tour the city on a couple of their sightseeing buses. We walked around Fed Square and Flinders Street Station and found a couple good restaurants down a tiny alley, went to a few galleries and museums. Mostly we tried to stay warm.
