When we weren’t shuffling things around on the boat we were playing tourist. We made several trips to South Bank, a South Brisbane precinct beautifully reclaimed along the Brisbane River that incorporates culture, education and recreation. We meandered through its parkland, watched people and birds and ferries. We enjoyed the Queensland Museum (QM) displaying their natural history and the modern art museum( QAGOMA).
Weather has been changeable and intense at times. Most notable is the wind that picks up in the marina about 3pm almost daily. Frequently it’s blowing 20-25kt in the late afternoon. Thunder, lightening, wind and rain showed up after sunset almost every evening this past week and last night was really spectacular with 38kt winds while Chesapeake rocked in her berth and the air was liquid. It was near low tide, 5.2ft, and we draw 6.5ft. We were glad to be in a berth and not at anchor.
