Nov. 11 – trains, ferries, high rises and baggage

We moved the boat from Rivergate to Scarborough.  A four hour motorsail then we had to to wait a couple hours for high tide so we could get into the marina. Someone at the marina gave us a lift to the train which took us to a ferry where fellow yachties picked us up so we could get back to our rental car.  Scarborough is at the tip of a residential area and the only way to get anywhere is a bus and then a train.

We’ve been busy exploring various suburban neighborhoods that make up Brisbane.  Sunday morning we stopped by a local organic farmers market on Northey Street.  Another morning we stopped for breakfast in a tiny alley.  We visited the botanical garden (free) and ohh’d and ahh’d at all the high rises in central Brisbane.

Our greatest feat thus far is packing up ten bags of stuff no longer needed on the boat.  It’s all going home.  Maybe the waterline will come up a bit.
