Flora Tropica Gardens is over five acres of landscaped hillsides and creek flats. We were provided with umbrellas as we ambled through elevated timber walkways and stone paths. Our tour guide rattled off botanical names and descriptions of many of the 300 species from around the world, including many that are among the most rare and endangered species. And then there were more than 40 types of tropical fruit trees, myriad flowering trees, variegated and flowering shrubs, as well as orchids, heliconias, and ponds brimming with water lilies. We left overwhelmed with information, none of which I can recall at this point. Great fun though.
