Day 47 – Jan. 7 – home at last

Not a cloud in the sky and minimal traffic as we headed north along SH1.  We stopped for lunch at the Red Cherry http://www.redcherrycoffee.co.nz/ where I had asparagus and blue cheese fritters (so-so) while Jim had a chicken caesar salad with poached egg which he loved.  Later on – it was a long drive – we took a detour onto Hibiscus Highway in the Hauraki Gulf along Whangaparaoa Bay to have a break and some coffee/tea at Walnut Cottage Cafe.  The rest of the drive was uneventful, the boat was still floating and we were glad to be home.

As if you need to read one more blog about our eating habits, I would like to share the details of our itinerary after my fingers have rested.  Stay tuned.
