Day 27 – Dec. 18 – Milford Sound was amazing

We drove to Te Anu for the Jucy Cruize to Milford Sound.  It was a pleasant ride in the coach (bus) watching tall mountain peaks partly covered in clouds, snow or glaciers, with an occasional recent rock slide.  It’s a bit scary knowing rock slides and avalanches happen frequently around here, especially after rainfall, like the past few days.  We were lucky the weather cleared and the road was open as often that’s not the case.  We made plenty of stops along the way to explore lakes and bridges and learn about the history of Milford Sound.  The boat ride through the Sound was spectacular with shear rock walls and too many waterfalls to count.  Our boat got so close to one of the waterfalls we were all covered in spray.
