Day 4 – Nov. 25 – Abel Tasman

Big blue sky, hectars of vineyards, placid water and Mt Richmond in the background.  This is how our day started.  We stopped in Motueka for Sunday market which was more like an international  flea market.  Jim bought sausages and we both bought used books.  We stopped at Toad Hall because it looked so inviting – a cafe and health food store.  The mushroom, blue cheese pie was mouthwatering.  Then we drove to Abel Tasman, had lunch at the Park Cafe and took a pleasant walk out along the Golden Bay.  We continued on to Cape Farewell out to the spit because we had to go to the very end.  Rolling green hills, narrow winding roads, deep valleys and water vistas everywhere as we logged about 10 hours in the car.  Most unusual site was tractors pulling trailered boats to shore through the muddy bay at low tide.
