We were glad to leave Vanihe and find a more calm anchorage. Three plus hours later we arrived at Ambore-Loone but it definitely wasn’t calm. It was a roadstead and the only option we had unless we wanted to sail all night to Espiritu Santo.
Strong waves pounded against the rocky shore and created a rolling and bouncing sensation onboard. No way could we take a dinghy to shore so we hunkered down and watched movies. No photo could capture the dreariness of this place. At the merest hint of daybreak we pulled the anchor up and left.
