Oct. 13 – Surundu Bay – paradise continues

We really didn’t want to leave Peterson Bay but there’s still more to explore and we’re running out of time if we want to leave Vanuatu by the end of October.  It was a two hour motor sail to another amazingly gorgeous bay.  We dropped the hook in 25ft of white sand with coral reefs a short swim from the boat.

The water was warm (89F) so we didn’t need wetsuits.  We spent the next couple of days snorkeling during the day and watching sunsets in the evening.  We saw sea snakes, giant clam shells, loads of cowries (all alive so we didn’t take them) and colorful fish swimming among healthy coral.  When it wasn’t overcast the sun was intense and we both burned our buns the first day snorkeling without a wetsuit.  We were so busy in the water that I forgot to take any pictures.  These were found on the internet.
