our anchor was up at 10:30, out of Cooks Bay at 11 and we motored over to Teruaupu Pass to anchor in front of Haumi at 2pm. the pass was wide and calm but the lagoon shallowed up quickly when we strayed from the channel markers. water is smooth as glass. we sit in 33 ft of murky water at the outlet of a river and it shoals quickly. i watched a man walk his dog out for cleaning about 200 ft away. we spent the afternoon watching the community come and go and playing in the water.
