We dropped our anchor outside the anchorage at Atuona at 8:30am after a pleasant sail and a hard rain that washed away the salt. We inflated the dinghy, got everything cleaned up, and had carrot/cabbage salad by 11:30am. The island is spiked with volcanic mountains shrouded in fog, a ragged green coastline and a strong surge. Temperature is high 80s with some humidity.
