relaxing in rangiroa

just a quick post to report we’re still floating.  arrived in Rangiroa, Tuamotos way before dawn and had to hove to and wait for daybreak.  we checked out the entrance pass at Tiputa but the big rollers crashing into the pass discouraged us.  we motored over to Avatoru pass and came in at 8am with no problems.  this place is big enough to fit the whole sf bay area.  we anchored by the Kia Ora village.  about 12-14 boats in here with plenty of anchorage for all.  we sit in turquoise waters with a gentle breeze.  tomorrow we’ll explore the area and i’ll update the blog if i can.  meanwhile, here are some shots from Ahe, the motu we just sailed from.
